The
Good News Jail & Prison Ministry
A
non-profit organization committed to preaching and teaching
the Gospel of Jesus Christ to prisoners in jails and prisons
across the United States and internationally including Chaplains
in Africa, India, Latvia, and Estonia.
Founded
in 1961 by Dr. William L. Simmer, it is an organization that
places godly, qualified, highly-trained, degreed, professional
Chaplains in a jail or prison to meet the spiritual needs
of prisoners. In addition, Good News Chaplains reach out to
meet the spiritual needs of the correctional staff in the
facilities in which they serve.
Good
News Jail & Prison Ministry exists for the purpose recruiting,
equipping, encouraging and supporting Chaplains for ministry
in jails and prisons nationally and internationally, with
the intent that God will enable us to reach as many inmates
as possible with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and promote the
spiritual growth of those inmates who indicate faith in Christ.
We
accept no local, state, or federal funds and are supported
by churches and individuals interested in jail and prison
ministry.The Chaplains' ministry is a hands-on pastoral ministry;
the inmates are their congregation - the jail or prison, their
pulpit.

The
Food Bank
|
The Galilee
Food Bank was organized in April 1984. With the help
of the Lord and some committed members, this ministry
has been a great success and has helped many people
in need.
Eligibility is based on the income of the entire household
and must meet certain criteria for that household size.
We distribute
at least 150 boxes of food each year and boxes usually
go out every two or three months. Special dinners go
out for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
We enjoy
this ministry and ask for your prayers that God will
continue to use us and help us to do more.
